Fave Game OSTs

Shoutout to Chrono Cross for having this ultra bit of depressing music playing during a dramatic moment that proceeded to lead into a fight!

The whole score has a lot of great stuff, but for me that was a standout bit that stuck with me.

Kota Hoshino's work on Armored Core's OSTs, specfically 4 and FA, is just godly. I especially love his usage of distorted vocals in a lot of his tracks.

I would like to second Chrono Cross for this thread. The intro was one of my favorites as a kid.



In general, I fall in love with most soundtracks that heavily feature violins pretty easily.

Any discussion of game OSTs must simply include the masterpiece that is the Super Robot Wars: Original Generations OST.

Kirby's Epic yarn, hands down.
It's so cozy and honestly very well orchestrated

Dusk's soundtrack is so good that even if it wasn't attached to a great game it would still be one of the best instrumental metal albums ever made.

I always have to shill the Streets of Rage series OST. Even if you're not a fan of beat 'em ups it's crazy how much the old trilogy was able to push the Genesis.

I think that Final Fantasy IX, my personal favorite FF title, has great music.

I recommend the track "You're Not Alone!"

CrossCode and VA-11 Hall-A are big favorites of mine.
